Starting your morning routine with a hot lemon drink (or cold in the summer) sets your body up for the day. It helps cleanse the liver (a vital detoxifying organ of the body) giving the best start to the day.
I have come up with five ways my (and your) body may benefit from lemon water.
- It promotes hydration
- It's a good source of vitamin C
- It improves your skin quality and balance
- It aids digestion
- It freshens the breath
The lemon is full of flavonoids. Flavonoids are anti-inflammatory and along with cold water bathing help me maintain healthy circulation. Rutin is a flavonoid in lemon which is great for strengthening the capillary walls. One for old age.
Lemon is a powerful antioxidant, cleansing the morning body. It is also great for acne as it supports the liver and acts as a general tonic.
So next time you pass that lonely lemon in the shop, bring it home with you.
